The beginning of the construction process is a milestone for all of the participating countries but Japan has been particularly appreciative of the role of the surveyor and the world class GeoMax robotic total station technology used on such a high profile project.
The Japanese delegation held a traditional ‘Kagamibiraki’ ceremony to welcome the start of construction on their pavilion, which involved giving a ritual hammer blow to two barrels of sake. The symbolic gesture heralds a new beginning and hope for success.
Expo Milan is expected to attract 20 million visitors from May 1-October 31 2015. The theme, Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, invites visitors to take a trip around the world, sampling the food and traditions of people from all over the globe.
Expo Milano 2015 will be the first Exposition in history to contribute towards education on food and the planet’s precious resources.
