A tunnel in Peru, some 1,306m about sea level, provided a dramatic backdrop for professionals attending a training course using the advanced GeoMax Zoom80R total station. The session began even further above sea level – at 1,520m – the premises of Consorcio Rio Mantaro in Huancavelica, part of the province of Colcabamba. Here the attendees were taken through a tunnel application scenario using the GeoMax Zoom80R and GeoOffice software. Later the trainees moved to a nearby tunnel for practical field training to bring their learning to life. With instruction from the senior surveyor of Consorcio Rio Mantaro, the group seized the opportunity to use the GeoMax Zoom80R and handheld PS236 to complete their tasks and to explore the tunnel’s remarkable features, including its length of 8,296m and diameter of 13.64m.
